What you need for a video ad from a prompt.
- An idea in your own words. The scene, the spoken lines, the captions, the pacing: as much or as little as you have.
- A product or a character, if you want one. A product shown on camera needs at least one picture. Characters are set up in the Riffkit app. Name no character and the video gets a person Riffkit comes up with.
What comes back
The video, and where it is.
One video for each character you name, or one video with a person Riffkit comes up with. Each comes with a suggested caption and hashtags.
Your assistant gives you a link that opens the video in your browser. The link works for 6 hours, for anyone who has it, and you can ask for a new one at any time. The file is not attached to the chat. The video is also in your Riffkit library, where you can download it.
Limits
What a video from a prompt will not do.
- Length. From 4 to 45 seconds when you set it. Leave it out and the length follows the idea, up to 45 seconds and up to what your balance covers.
- One aspect ratio for each video. It is 9:16 unless you say otherwise. 3:4, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, 4:3 and 21:9 are available. More vertical ratios can be added to a finished vertical video, at a higher rate. A horizontal video cannot get added ratios.
- Nine languages. English, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, German, French, Italian, Japanese and Chinese. Text you put in double quotes stays word for word.

Counted for every second of video, at the rates below: a 9-second video uses 9 seconds’ worth.
Set a length your balance does not cover and nothing starts, with no credits used. With no length set, the video is made shorter to fit your balance.

Can ChatGPT make a video, or only the script?
ChatGPT and Claude do not render video themselves. With Riffkit added, the assistant passes your idea to Riffkit, and Riffkit makes the video. Adding Riffkit to ChatGPT takes developer mode, which not every account has.
